Today we remember #Métis culture and Louis Riel's success negotiating #Manitoba into Confederation. Elected 3 times to Parliament, #Riel could never take his seat. His trial, conviction and hanging has been subject of controversy ever since.

Well the rest of the story has often been told,
They hung young Louis so brave and so bold
Tried so hard a-working for the people,
Gave up his life for working for the people
I know another man who did that too
That hung on a cross in Calvary
