For the final week of our June art challenge I had set @kirkfzero.bsky.social me the awful pair of prompts: A picture drawn with only patches of color, no lines! OR any "famous" painting but "wrong" colors only
I was probably thinking I'd do something pride themed. Now, I fear they might take my queer card away since I picked one of the most famous heteronormative paintings to redo and kept it vanilla AF...

I deliberately decided to draw Ed without any anatomy references, but ended up subconsciously copying one of Melinöe's prayer poses anyway :D, despite consciously trying to move away from it.
The coloring got out of hand as well. None of the tasteful detail distribution and color jitters of the iconic Hades art-direction.

For several months now, we've been trying to draw a "mashup" fanart of the Elric brothers drawn in the style of the Hades portraits.
Tonight we finished coloring it. We bit off more than we could chew and I kinda gave up on making it look Hades-y halfway through, and then overdid the coloring anyway...I kinda like it :D
Poor Alfonse was intended to get overshadowed, unfortunately.

I had such high hopes for our first #pleinAirpril going in. Instantly got overwhelmed with detail, and gave up on how I was planning to tackle them. Even kept the undersketch, then rushed to the end.
