@GreenSysAdmin
I belive it was you talking about automating WG connections on #LinuxAfterDark
I can highly recommend WG Tunnel on android for this. Heavily configurable WireGuard client with multiple ways to automate connections on connection types.

My poor Asus L210MA
On episode 105 of #LinuxAfterDark @JoeRess and friends blasted my poor laptop... 😭
Let me tell you guys that while I recognized it is a crappy laptop it does its job decently, actually, as a matter of fact I can still doing graphics and coding, using a browser with dozen of tabs opened.
The point is in using the right OS, that is not #Ubuntu, and the right tools: as browser #LibreWolf with the right extensions that unload memory burden, using Geany and Micro as text editor and not VScode/VSCodium for instance.
I recognize the memory is the weakest point: so with Gimp, Inkscape, Librewolf and Geany the risk to swap is 100% assured. On the other end its specs, including the emmc disk allows the battery to last very long, actually I bought a second Asus L410MA to my daughter because for home schooling is better than any Chromebook. The 14" has a slot for a nvme slot, I put a disk on her computer but now it is draining more energy, on the emmc I left Win11 because I need a back up for any emergency...
To recap I would say that as a cheap, light, long lasting, battlefield laptop is totally worth and the compatibility with Linux is 100%. I am thinking to use ZRAM or ZSWAP to improve the ram situation though... 😉

#LinuxAfterDark @joeress as a comment to the custom rom episode. I'm considering a 2 phone solution. One daily driver (maybe a #Fairphone ❤️) - and then I'll keep my old One+ as the officially blessed phone. This will be in my bagpack mostly, maybe even in a rf-bag when I'm not traveling.
My phone company allows me to have a single official number, which will redirect any call to all my devices (including a sip phone).
Expensive and not practical, but 🤷♀️ -
Enjoyed the latest #LinuxAfterDark podcast, now waiting for the challenge where @garythewilliams is tasked with spending all of the budget on as many bootable machines as possible in a bulk job-lot sale, and also rescues as many bootable machines as possible from the tip... because you can never have enough iMacs in your garage. 🏗️

Wondering why @JoeRess didn't consider a Raspberry Pi as his ideal cheap and small off-site backup machine... #LinuxAfterDark #podcast

On the last #LinuxAfterDark episode, you discussed what to do with an old Eee PC. Mine (701) had #wattOS and #HaikuOS running on it a while back, but it's just not really usable that way. Now it is running FreeBSD (installed on the 4GB internal SSD) which I use as a backup NAS (via an attached USB drive), giving this device some final purpose (can't bear to throw it away either).

Had some awesome father son quality time playing Urban Terror.

Given the FOSS discussions about #a11y over the past week, the timing of this episode was (accidentally?) spot on.

@thisgeektweets I’m interested now… what new Thinkpad did you buy? (You mentioned in #LinuxAfterDark ep68)

I was listening to the #LinuxAfterDark podcast where they talked about #telegram. Sounded fun, so tried it. I'll try and get the Mrs to move over from WhatsApp, but I'm not holding my breath.

#LinuxAfterDark Thank-you for reminding me of an #xkcd classic.

Lenovo has an #ARM laptop for sale. Heard about it yesterday at #LinuxAfterDark via @JoeRess

Just finished listening to @JoeRess and crew on #LinuxAfterDark episode 20. Dalton's book recommendation Digital Minimalism sounded interesting, but I think it would be preaching to the choir to the community here on #Fosstodon. A lot of what was discussed is exactly why we're all here and not currently doomscrolling Twitter. No algorithm curating what you see to hold your interest or stoke your outrage so we can show you ads. Just plain ole chronological unmonetized content from our community.

@rridley I took that advice and broke out the exercise bike for a 500 cal ride. Felt pretty good actually. Just listened to a #LinuxAfterDark and relaxed. Maybe tomorrow I'll do the same thing with the rowing machine to mix things up. Better than jogging at 106.
