I heard about an Anthropic employee spending $20,000 worth of Claude tokens to build a C compiler using a bunch of agents ... when improving how LibreOffice Impress handles notes for slides and shows notes in presentation mode was right there for the taking. Go figure.

I am askkng myself what would be a good approach for collaborative work on presentations. So having a git pull request workflow with presentation files. I dont think that using Libreoffice Impress files in Git is a good idea. Till now i think about using sli.dev and use the pptx export feature if i want to to use the presentations on the desktop. Any better ideas?

Trying to work on a a revision of a presentation made with #LibreOffice #Impress but when opening the ODP file it simply opens Impress without loading any content. There is not a single slide being visible but all the application UI is there. It's like the rendering broken, scrolling messes up the document are and it happens on any device so far opening that file.

Any idea how to approach and fix this? 🤔 Right now I'm trying LibreOffice 25.8.3.2 on Fedora.

Edit: Well, exporting to PPTX and then to ODP again makes the file render correctly again but the the ODP size has doubled. Eh. 😅 Feels kind of messy.

It looks like #libreoffice #impress does not react to the forward and back buttons on my mouse at all. Would be very handy to be able to use that as a presenter though. Is there any way I can set this up easily? (And maybe a bug report to make it happen by default?)

@libreoffice is that broken just for me or a missing feature in general?

It will be good to have more templates in #libreofficeimpress (especially some other than blue ones)!

For some reason notes are again broken, but only for the title slide, whatever.

Also I wanted to add notes to a slideshow in #LibreOfficeImpress, which wasn't obvious initially, but after a quick search I learned that there's a separate view for notes, which lets you format them like any other text box.
This is actually so good! PowerPoint only has a tiny box under the slides for notes, and I'm pretty sure you can't format them at all.

@vees so exciting! I'd also recommend #Krita as the person above suggested!

As for open source & digital zine making, I'd recommend exporting individual pages from Krita then putting the zine pages together in a slideshow editor like #LibreOfficeImpress! It makes reordering pages much easier than some other options.
