Dodgers' latest crazy signing of Kyle Tucker is making me think that Dodgers have been playing the long game, ramping up the contract prices to coincide with the expiration of the CBA.
Surely stars aligned right for Dodgers too, like Shohei becoming available, and being very open to the mega-deferred contract. And some contracts backfired as well (see: Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates), but overall it all worked out for them.

It just occurred to me that Dodgers ownership just might WANT salary cap to happen.
Even with the crazy contracts and crazy luxury tax and all, Dodgers are still a profitable club because they are raking in insane amount of revenues.
Salary cap is not gonna stop the revenues from coming in, but Dodgers will be forced to significantly cut their spendings.
Same revenue with less spending? CRAZY PROFITS!!
