The #Braves today claimed RHP Ricky Vanasco off waivers from the Detroit Tigers and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

There are only two ballparks in Major League Baseball where Shohei Ohtani's lead-off triple last night against #Braves closer Raisel Iglesias is not a home run.

Truist Park is one. PNC Park is the other.

Asked #Braves MGR Walt Weiss about Joe Jiménez's progress. He said he's happy Joe now has hope to continue his career – whereas a few months ago, it was unclear. Weiss didn't rule out Jiménez returning, but added he's been out a long time. So, expectations are obviously tempered.

#Braves RHP Robert Suarez could begin throwing bullpen sessions soon. He's advanced his throwing program out to 100 feet to build up arm strength. Walt Weiss said the next step after throwing bullpens is the rehab assignment.

Matt Olson is on pace for 45 HR & 95 RBIs. He could become just the 5th man in MLB history with 45+ HR and less than 100 RBI.

#Braves reliever Joe Jiménez (via Instagram) shared he completed his 5th bullpen session. He said it's the best he's felt yet. It'll be intriguing to see what the next few weeks holds. Jiménez hasn't pitched for ATL since the end of 2024 after undergoing multiple knee surgeries.

As I talked about on @[email protected], it remains to be seen if the #Braves will give Kim more opportunities, since any benefit of his rehab assignment (from a timing perspective) has been canceled out while he's been sitting out for roughly 3 weeks.

Since being activated from the IL three weeks ago, #Braves SS Ha-Seong Kim has appeared in 4 games (1 start). He hasn't played since August 15.

He's 1-for-his-last-45 at the plate.

This signals Mauricio Dubón will take over primary SS duties after spending much of the summer in the OF.

Kind of a shame that Eddie Mathews hit HR No. 500 in an Astros uniform the year after leaving the #Braves.

He's easily one of the most under-discussed all-time greats.

Dana Brown left his post as #Braves VP of Scouting (2019-2022) to take Houston's GM job prior to 2023.

He's out just under four seasons later.
