Palestinian Arrested In Quezon City For Stealing Money Bag

For some time now, I have been monitoring the criminal acts committed by people who are present in different countries as foreigners. Here in the Philippines, a Palestinian man was arrested in Quezon City for stealing a bag containing a lot of cash from the café of a hotel, according to a news report by the Manila Bulletin.

As it turns out, the Palestinian already has a history of committing other forms of crime. Could it be possible that, apart from violence and terrorism, theft and an obsession of committing crime are parts of the Palestinian nature?

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the Manila Bulletin news report. Some parts in boldface…

A 36-year-old Palestinian man was arrested after allegedly taking a money bag containing P5,020 and an empty cash box from a hotel café on Timog Avenue in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City, at around 11:06 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.

The suspect, identified as “Ham,” was intercepted by hotel security personnel at the establishment’s exit after the incident was detected through the hotel’s CCTV monitoring system.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect entered the café and allegedly took the money bag and empty cash box without the knowledge or consent of the 24-year-old male cashier.

Recovered from the suspect were P5,020 in various peso bills and coins, the cash bag, the empty cash box, and a backpack.

Personnel of Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) later responded and took custody of the suspect from the hotel security personnel.

Further verification showed that the suspect had previous criminal records for estafa, unjust vexation, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, use of a fictitious name, and concealing his true name in October 2025, as well as theft in May 2026.

La presidente Claudia Sheinbaum detalló que desde el 20 de enero de 2025 hasta la fecha se registraron 108 mil 813 repatriaciones de connacionales. Explicó que esta cifra corresponde al inicio de la administración de Donald Trump en Estados Unidos.

La mandataria recordó que el mayor número de mexicanos repatriados se presentó durante el gobierno de Bill Clinton. Precisó que en un solo año llegaron a registrarse 1.1 millones de retornos al país por esa vía.

De acuerdo con la información oficial, el fenómeno migratorio actual se encuentra en niveles más bajos que en administraciones anteriores. Los encuentros en la frontera sur estadounidense disminuyeron de 15 mil diarios en diciembre de 2023 a 200 o 300 en 2025.

Cifras por administración estadounidense

En el periodo de George W. Bush el número máximo de repatriados ascendió a 557 mil mexicanos. Durante la administración de Barack Obama la cifra más alta alcanzó 600 mil en un año.

La primera presidencia de Donald Trump registró un máximo de 220 mil repatriaciones. Con el gobierno de Joe Biden, el número aumentó a 265 mil, de acuerdo con los datos presentados.

En contraste, en lo que va de 2025 bajo la segunda administración de Donald Trump, las repatriaciones sumaron 108 mil 813. La mandataria explicó que los connacionales retornaron mediante carta de repatriación emitida por el Instituto Nacional de Migración.

Claudia Sheinbaum subrayó que esa documentación permitió tener control y certeza sobre el número de mexicanos repatriados. Señaló que, en caso de no contar con pasaporte, esa carta constituye el único medio de ingreso oficial.

Migrantes irregulares deportados

En paralelo, Tricia McLaughlin, subsecretaria del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional de Estados Unidos, ofreció cifras adicionales. Reportó que aproximadamente 1.6 millones de migrantes irregulares abandonaron de manera voluntaria el territorio estadounidense desde enero.

La funcionaria aseguró que además se registraron casi 600 mil deportaciones en lo que va del actual gobierno. Con ello, el total de extranjeros que dejaron Estados Unidos superó los dos millones en menos de un año.

La presidente Claudia Sheinbaum respondió que esa cifra no correspondía a mexicanos, sino a migrantes de otras nacionalidades. Aclaró que, hasta ahora, el registro confirmado en México alcanzó únicamente 108 mil repatriaciones de connacionales.

Explicó que el control del proceso se ejerce de manera directa a través del Instituto Nacional de Migración. Añadió que la repatriación formal requiere documentación validada, lo que permite diferenciar el flujo migratorio y evitar confusiones.

Control y seguimiento migratorio

La mandataria mexicana reiteró que los datos de repatriación se encuentran plenamente sustentados en documentación oficial. Recordó que el número actual resulta significativamente menor frente a los registros históricos de décadas pasadas.

Subrayó que los mecanismos de control implementados impidieron que cifras no verificadas se incluyeran como parte de los mexicanos repatriados. Puntualizó que esa precisión permite dar certeza a la población sobre la dimensión real del fenómeno.

Finalmente, aseguró que el gobierno federal mantendría seguimiento cercano de la situación migratoria y cooperación con autoridades estadounidenses. Reafirmó que la prioridad consistía en garantizar respeto a los derechos de los connacionales repatriados. –sn–
