It's haircut season!

This is a Blue jay that is preening and has no head feathers.

As the weather gets cold some birds will lose a lot of feathers all at once so they don't lose any during the winter and can stay insulated.

This is called catastrophic molt and is completely normal.

#RedSox dropped 3 out of 4 at #BlueJays this week, but finally came away with a win in the series finale to end a 5-game losing streak. BOS shut out TOR 7-0 yesterday afternoon on the strength of another outstanding start for Payton Tolle and a grand slam for Caleb Durbin.
