I am installing Pangolin as replacement to Cloudflare tunnels. I'm having some trouble configuring Traefik middlewares, and decided to ask advise from new Qwen3.8. It answered pretty quickly, did some net searches, and gave helpful answer. What's amazing is that it runs locally in an AMD Strix Halo mini-pc. I don't need any AI sub because the Ai is just another service in a mini-pc I am using anyway.
I got forward with Pangolin, and gave now e.g. Crowdsec completely integrated via Traefik plugin.
Now I'm stuck with Traefik Middleware Manager. It should allow me to pick a service (a web server) and hook in required Middleware. But it has hardly any documentation. I have installed a set of plugins, but I'm puzzled how to add and configure them into middlewares for a service. I guess I need to read the truth from sources😅.

Glad I checked the weather! It was sunny, blue skies, but warned of showers in 27 minutes.
Sure enough - I scurried to throw everything in my tent while it grew from sprinkles to showers to full blown.
EDIT: the rain passed and the (literally) out-of-sight sunset gave us this lovely reflection on clouds.

I got Deepseek V4 work in Framework Desktop, an AMD Strix Halo PC with 128G memory, inside Lemonade server. I briefly tested code snippet generation, and result was pretty good. Downsides are that it's rather slow and context is short. But coming from a mini-PC it's still *very* impressive. The little Framework PC keeps giving.
Speed was about 15 tps, but the speed stays constantly there - even when context gets longer. I remember running Kimi K2 a year ago at 3 tps!
I tested code generation by asking it to implement an Angular module for OAUTH login client. I refined it through few iterations to add e.g. hardening and configuration features. Code quality was very good. Finally i asked it to write it out as plan.md, restarted and asked to generate code from the plan. Regenerated code was nearly identical to original round.
The server had some instability after chat grew to about 35k long (total 15k tokens). Nothing crashes but client showed an error that stream ended prematurely. The server log showed it finished though. Overall this was good experience, with some concern about actual max content length.
Model was unsloth/DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731-GGUF with UD-IQ2_M quant. The Lemonade server couldn't run it out-of-the-box, complaining about unknown "Deepseek" architecture.
- I upgraded llama.cpp to a nightly build:
lemonade config set llamacpp.rocm_bin=b10230
- Reloaded the llama.cpp backend from Lemonade UI.
- File/Add model.
- Set run parameters: --flash-attn on --reasoning on -np 1 --ctx-checkpoints 0
- Max context: 65kRAM usage was at 90GB, so there is still room for another model in parallel, or better quant. No crashes, even after several hours. Next step is try Hermes Studio with the model.

Mashed together a recipe for strawberry ginger lemonade from several I found, this is the result. It's quite tart, but I like that. You can add more honey or whatever sweetener you like.
TL;DR be very careful with graters, they exist to damage you. Use a cut-resistant glove and don't let the bastard appliance taste blood.

We have a large number of lemons ripening on our tree. We looked after our grandchildren on Thursday as there was a teachers' strike. I went out for a business lunch (that sounds la-di-da but it wasn't) and when I got back the children told me they had made lemonade with their aunt.
I was warned before I tasted it to only take a sip. Wow! It was sooooo sweet! It was like concentrated cordial you (used to?) buy at the supermarket. The children reckoned it was too sour. The adults reckoned it was too sweet. Even after I added water it was too sweet for my tastes.
But we were delighted they had a go at doing this. Apparently aunty did most of the squeezing of the lemons.

I agree with Paul directionally, but I think he could have gone further – and perhaps he has since – so I compare his view to my own in a Substack article. I'm not sure whether he'd disagree with the extensions. Check it out.

Supposed to be, from respectable #recipes I’ve seen: big slabs of blue dried fruit (not blue bacon-strips-lookin’ generic rolls), #pineapple (not cheap #lemonade), #rum (not #vodka), & #BlueCuraçao (I’d substitute [green] #Midori if I could).
Still yummy, & enough of them will help cloud my memory of the real reflecting pool, the real white house, the real national anniversary.
