This says on the can that it's "golden as the morning sun," and I have to say that they are pretty poetic. They aren't accurate, but they are poetic.

First sip is toasted nuts, plums, and maybe the burnt remains of a cinnamon stick. It's not terrible, but it's going to take some getting used to.

The yeast is tangy, and it's slapping into the grainy malt with a discordance that can only be described as "epic."

That is a surprisingly dark gold beer that is almost bronze in the center. The head that comes out is quite impressive with its fluffiness and stickiness.

Well, that doesn't look like cider, does it? It doesn't smell like it, either. The color is plum red, but I mentioned the smell because it emanates with a ferocity hitherto unknown.

The Toasted Stout was one of the more expensive beers I've had at $65 per bottle. At that price, I expected it to be as good as the regular stout, but it was not.
