#3goodthings, Christmas morning edition
1. I won at both #Whamageddon and #LDBChallenge
2. I don't have to see any relatives today and sit through a mediocre meal while listening to petty gossip about all the other relatives that aren't present
3. Quiet, peaceful morning so far. Wife is sleeping in the next room. Just finished some coffee. Barely audible washing machine from the other side of the house is the only real noise. Enjoying a bit of tranquility. -

Two hours until midnight so I'm gonna call this a success. This entire season I have not heard:

The Little Drummer Boy Challenge concluded last night, 12/23 at 11:59 pm. If you survived from Thanksgiving until last night without hearing that dreaded bongo boi banging out his pum beats, then you won.
I won this year, hooray! One year I was out in just a few hours. Several times I made it most of the way only to be drummed out in the last day or two.
O, Fortune! How like the moon, always increasing and decreasing, constantly changing!

Heading into the home stretch of the Little Drummer Boy Challenge (#LDBChallenge), so far unscathed. I am being as cautious as I can, and optimistic that I might make it this year. A small reward for an otherwise generally awful year.

Screw the LDB challenge. This is a solid version of the classic #ChristmasCarol

As a minor update, I have heard more pieces of Christmas music this season than I'd like, but I have not yet heard any version of "Little Drummer Boy." Not part of the challenge, but I've also thankfully not heard "Wonderful Christmastime," "Dogs Barking Jingle Bells" or any iteration of "12 Days of Christmas."

I spent an anxious hour at the dentist's office as they blared Christmas carols in order to drown out the sounds of dental drills and patients wailing and weeping; and to my great relief there was no Little Drummer Boy! Phew, that felt close.
