If you're in Hawai‘i, don't put your bad body into the ocean. It is absolutely filthy after the storm.

Maintenance person went by Saint Mary’s to check on things after the storm. Not sure why, but the big cross was lit up. Something hopeful and beautiful about seeing it on a text tonight:

This is what it was like around 9 am in Honolulu (in my friend’s pick up roundabout). It would have lulls and then start up a bit, but nothing like earlier and overnight… i stayed inside then. #lala

The winds have died down and lots of folks are out and about after being cooped up. It’s still rainy and overcast and many traffic lights are out in Honolulu. Some folks still lack power but I got lucky and mine came back around 1 p.m. after maybe 8 hours or so. I went to the gym and did an extra long workout this morning when they opened since my power was out. Feeling thankful and hoping folks across the state are all right. 🙏🏽 #lala

First Sunday not at mass in many years due to Hurricane #Lala. Lost power last night. Rain managed to get into our bedroom and drenched a lot of stuff. But everyone is safe. Just need to survive four kids packed into a power-out house.

Degraded from Tropical Cyclone status, after losing energy over Big Island, Tropical Storm #Lala is more than halfway along the Hawai'ian archipelago, some 70-odd km S of Oahu, cruising E-W from NW off the Big Island.
Storm is expected to leave main string of islands, early Monday morning, and regain Hurricane Cat1 status after Tuesday afternoon, over open ocean.
