Shamefully, I've hardly ridden my #motorcycle in the last year, flattening its battery. When I last went to start it, ruh-roh, no go, error codes, & the dreaded check engine light. 😭
Got that checked today Errors cleared. Low voltage (duh). New battery & all's well.
Now to do more riding. My head's in a better space now, so with any luck, & a lot less procrastination, it will happen. I can't blame the bike anymore! But damn it was cold this morning - I *can* blame that! 😂😂😂

I had a nice few days up the coast with old mates. Knowing of fun options, I rode.
From Windsor I headed to Wisemans Ferry, very little traffic, and none at all in the funnest bits. Just made the ferry, the sole car turned left, & I turned right to Mangrove Mtn. It's narrow, winding, bumpy, passes through a few little towns, & roadworks. I was the only one going my way. Hit the boring freeway at Somersby, riding highways to Nelson Bay.
A great day, & my #KTM690 lapped it up

A mostly tar ride today. No proper stats, because I forgot my GPS... About 220km of enjoyable roads around the back of Lithgow.
I intended to do the dirt Six Foot Track, but didn't check the turn. I took the right turn, but a sign said no through rd. 🤔 Knowing the track is a through rd, I turned around. That sign is a dirty rotten liar. 🤬😂
Dead wombat: 1
Huge wedge-tailed eagle waiting for me to pass, to continue eating dead wombat : 1
Thunderstorms: hah! Beat them! -

Woohoo! Another day, another ride.
I took advantage of good weather to ride back roads from Lithgow to Oberon.
Put simply, a #KTM690 makes a brilliant back roads bike. As you'd expect from a chookchaser, it eats up crappy potholed country roads, & on good roads it's even better. Light, chuckable, great clearance, & plenty of poke to keep me powering around the limit. ~4hrs riding, 290km, ~4km up & down 24km/l vs 26km/l relaxed riding.
Again, I feel better for it. 😎

An even shorter ride today, just getting the km closer to - not past - 1000km - first service. I don't know why I worry about getting it right - a few 100 km more won't make a difference. 🤷
Victoria Falls (Mt Victoria) track head in #BlueMountains National Park and back. Readers may recognise the slightly elephant shaped Mt Banks on the horizon. This is the western side. The east was on the horizon of my Mt Hay pics.
Good walks available - didn't do any

The #KTM690 ran beautifully all day, giving 26km/l. No thrashing or taking it easy, just riding. Lithgow had much cheaper petrol than the more populous , commutey, and touristy Mountains. Anyone would think we get ripped off 🤔
The valley & campsite are stunning, & I expect weekend camping is busy ~8-10 cars today. Toilets, van toilet dump point, tables, fireplaces (check restrictions), beautiful cliffs, & a shallow creek. Recommended day trip or a camp.

I'm going to test ride a #KTM690 Enduro R tomorrow. There's not a lot of choice in new dualsport/adventure bikes. KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas (tall clones), and Honda CRF300s (tallish). I rejected Kawasaki's overweight KLR650, last time round. DRZ? Also rejected. Taller than the clones. Anything else is rare exotica, or not dualsport.I like the CRF. It needs around 50% more power and 100% more torque to match a DR, but the DR's heavier. /3
