Yesterday, I ran up the Krummbachstein (1,600 m) again with my trail-running buddy, with 1,120 m of EG. She’s training for her next alpine skyrace. I played the role of water carrier and brought her gear to the meeting point at the hut below the summit. Of course, as we scrambled up to the summit, she galloped off ahead of me again. But we finally managed to keep the same pace!

I made it through the thunderstorm and the hailstorm just fine. That was very impressive. But it takes some experience, and the right equipment.

Yesterday: mountain hike'n'run through 🧊 & ❄️ to the Krummbachstein, 1,602 m. With fantastic views of the neighboring Rax and Schneeberg mountains. Very cool: it's only an hour's train ride from Vienna, and you can actually start and finish right on the platform. 21 km with 1,250 m elevation gain at -2 °C.

#Trailrunning last Friday: Hike'n'Run over the #Krummbachstein, with great views of #Rax & #Schneeberg, with 1,300 m EG. Partly through 20-50 cm deep snow. 1h steep descent through the dark forest – not ideal if you don't have a headlamp with you. The best thing about the tour: easily accessible from #Wien, and the start/finish is right on the train platform!
