KNBR's Giants announcers were like jackals snitching meat from hyenas, before the "dynasty" years. On-air, they called watching the team "torture" over and over again. They ripped the pitching. They ripped the fielding. They ripped the hitting. Every aspect of management was under a microscope, and found wanting.
Then, one miraculous, glorious season, the woebegone Giants suddenly started winning a lot of games. The stadium was always sold out! Every other year was incredibly good, or pretty mediocre, for about 6 years. Management was brilliant! Gifted! Divine!
The announcers haven't gotten any more caustic to the team than they were then. Trust me on this one. Some of them are the same announcers expressing their frustrations, as fans do, except, unlike fans who might choose to switch off a forgettable game to enjoy something a lot more fun, like paying bills, their contracts require them to experience each and every game in excruciating detail.

That 50kw Class A signal they take over was previously known as #KGO’s and was sent from the middle of #SanFranciscoBay, on a tower from alongside the #DumbartonBridge providing a "clear channel" reach that can be heard as far east as to the Rocky Mountains.
Amongst many #corporate #costcutting maneuvers and on-air personality silencing being made, owner #Cumulus media #broadcasting announces it is shifting sports #talkradio shows on #KNBR 680 out of its longtime #SF studios to 49ers #NFL football stadium 49 minutes south of city in #SantaClara .

Just heard about the big layoff at #KNBR and heard that Mac from Murph and Mac show was let go. Not sure about the status of Brian Murphy. But really appreciated their show on #KNBR over the years, listing to them about #49ers , #Dubs , #Giants on my commute was one of those times, where I wished for longer commute times. Too bad but good luck to those guys and hopefully we get to hear them on their own podcasts #Bayarea #sanfrancisco
