APPARENTLY, I APPEAR
TO HAVE STOPPED TRYING 💎Isn't there something slightly absurd about discovering a little peace and immediately wanting to explain it to everybody?
The mind says: Tell them. Teach it. Turn it into something useful.
But the present moment seems completely uninterested in becoming a philosophy.
It is already here.
Coffee. Fire. Bright but cold outside. A dog moving across the room. A conversation with Pete. A body breathing.
Nothing particularly spiritual about any of it.
Perhaps that is the difficulty.
Striving is often regarded as serious, while presence can look like laziness. Planning looks responsible. Regret looks thoughtful. Simply being present can look suspiciously like doing nothing.
And yet everything that actually happens happens here and now.
The past can be remembered. The future can be imagined. Neither can be lived.
So perhaps there is nothing to teach. Nothing to defend. And nothing to broadcast.
Just this.
And then this.
And then this...

THE AGENDA HAS COLLAPSED 💎The first five minutes of a breathwork session should never be broadcast.
Actually, the first five seconds would be enough.
This chair is wrong.
The room is too hot.
No, too cool.
The legs are complaining.
The nose has forgotten how to breathe.
Coffee was a mistake.
Or perhaps the mistake was not having enough coffee.
Humanity needs my immediate attention.
Civilisation is in danger.
Also, somebody said something irritating in 1987, and the matter remains unresolved.
All of this arrives before the first full breath has even left the body.
The mind is extraordinarily efficient when manufacturing emergencies.
Then the breath settles.
Nothing is fixed.
No argument is won.
No ancient grievance receives the apology it has apparently been waiting nearly forty years to hear.
Humanity is still unsupervised.
The world is not saved.
The legs remain slightly peculiar.
But somewhere along the way, the emergency meeting loses its quorum.
Nobody seconds the complaints.
The minutes are lost.
The entire agenda quietly collapses.
And, by the end of the session, I can barely remember what all the fuss was about.
Perhaps the mind doesn’t actually want solutions.
Perhaps it just enjoys holding staff meetings.

#FCC Plans To Repeal 39% #TV Ownership Cap
The FCC plans to vote on repealing local TV ownership limits, including the 39% national audience cap that currently restricts how much of the U.S. market a single #broadcast group can reach. Engadget reports: On August 6, commissioners will hold a ballot to repeal #Section303 of the Communications Act, and with it the 39 percent rule. In essence, the rule limits the reach of a local #TVnetwork to no more than 39 percent of the U.S.' total #audience market. In its place, the FCC would move to a system whereby it would personally approve or reject #TVownership deals on a case-by-case basis. It's not clear if the FCC even has the authority to reject Section 303 without the explicit consent of the legislature.
