Wer genau hinsieht, erkennt unten links den Rest einer anderen Pileus. Die Wolke hatte zuerst diese erzeugt, sie dann durchstoßen und dann eine weitere Kappe hervorgebracht.
Hier sind vier Bilder der Wolke mit ihren Kappen, die ich innerhalb von nur 89 Sekunden gemacht habe.
Das ist echt fix vorbei: einmal zu lange am Wanderpausenbrot gekaut, schon hat man alles verpasst.

Quellwolke mit Schlapphut – Pileus auf einer Cumuluswolke, während diese letzte Woche flink über dem Oberrheingraben quoll.
Diese Wolkenkappen sind in der Regel nur wenige Minuten sichtbar und verändern sich schnell.
Sie entstehen, wenn Quellwolken feuchte Luft schnell anheben. Dann kondensiert die Feuchte aus und bildet diese hübschen Häubchen, die die Wolke dann auch gerne von von unten durchstößt.

Two days of unbroken Cork sunshine had to end somewhere, and they ended like this. I was in the posh Dunnes in Bishopstown and when I came out the sunny sky became a brooding wall of cloud piling up overhead just as a jet lifted off.
