Musing: looking at the number of responses tonight that mention REST, while also thinking about how teachers DON'T LET OURSELVES REST... What if we re-framed rest as a PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY?? #kinderchat

Ok, so with pre-care in mind: look at the time from now until your break: what are the potential tough points? #kinderchat

And, knowing what the time from now until break looks like: what can you do in the next 45 minutes as pre-care? GO DO IT! #kinderchat

Tonight, we are going to focus on pre-care: when you do (or plan) something to take care of your FUTURE self. This can be everything from pro-active resting to doing a big job EARLY. Any examples you can think of? #kinderchat

Tonight is "assignment" night at #kinderchat, where I give you a task (usually related to self-care), and you report back (or don't) in 50-ish min.

I think our kinders would say they love "centres" best - that is when they are in free play. What I notice in their classrooms is how happy they are to be with their teachers, no matter what they are doing. #kinderchat

Something that went well: we had our first (ever!) family music workshops in our preschool classes. These have replaced winter concerts for our 3s and 4s, and they were AWESOME today! #kinderchat

I feel like our work is SO INTERESTING, and maybe that is just a sign that I'm in the right job, but I feel about child dev the way a 6 year old feels about Pokemon?! #kinderchat

And isn't that ALSO one of the best things about this work - you can do it FOREVER, and still learn a fact, or. meet a colleague, that changes your whole understanding of something. I LOVE that part of our work! #kinderchat

I was also (and sometimes still am) surprised at how extraordinarily complex and difficult reading is, as a learned skill. #kinderchat
