Excelente sessom a de hoje 🤩

Começamos com umas partidas ao #Altered, provando as últimas modificações que figem aos baralhos tras a última caixa.

Logo um #Magic rapidinho mentres traiam o poke; com o precon do de Atraxa, que o tenho abandonadíssimo mas vai bem.

E pechamos com #Keyforge: que bom é o Keyforge, rapazes, e que pouco caso se lhe fai, com o divertido, elegante e barato que é.

This was me. Actually, I was "the opponent." My key cheat was stolen. (This was at last weekend's #keyforge Vault Tour. I lost that game, but honestly, I ain't even mad, she stole my key in such a clever way.)

The new #Keyforge set, #PropheticVisions, is making its way to retail. Nobody is super clear on all the ways the new cards and rules interact. It's glorious chaos 🤣

#Keyforge really satisfied my hankering for limited, because I got to play limited jank without having to worry about deck construction. But at the same time, it didn't let me turn my neat limited experiences into bad constructed decks, and brewing hot garbage is a lot of the enjoyment I get from #tcg games.

I can't get over how this deck is called "Kiki" when it basically has a Kiki-Jiki combo in it.

Had a lot of fun at #LondonUrchins #Keyforge tournament today.

The game is amazing!

Ich hätte ja schon Lust, neben #magicthegathering, mal in #Lorcana reinzuschauen. Allerdings habe ich hier schon ein anderes TCG namens #Keyforge rumliegen, welches irgendwann fallen gelassen wurde 😧
Das wird dann einfach zu Papiermüll.

Which is to say that this doesn't seem like the kind of thing I can easily buy into casually, unlike, say, #Keyforge, where I just bought two decks and then was done. Granted, that's good for the designers and publishers, but I am neither of those, and I got another *checks notes* 92 #boardgames to learn this year, plus all the other stuff I already own and know to be 8.0+/10.

Maybe they'll support local trades (QR code shenanigans included) well enough that I can get value anyway. We'll see.

We upgraded #ArchonArcana to #MediaWiki 1.39 this week. The most annoying change seems to be that internally, the page title is now stored with some html tags ("<span>Page Title</span>" instead of "Page Title").

One mediawiki extension was putting this directly into the title of every page - it looked gross to have your browser tab name have random html tags in it. I, uh, just edited that extension.

Worse, our mediawiki extension that runs all of the javascript on the page was trying to match the page title to determine which javascript files to use, and getting confused.

It seems weird to store html tags with the title of the page, but what do I know, I'm not a mediawiki expert!

Overall, #Keyforge (co-op or otherwise) is a #boardgame that I wish I enjoyed, but after playing I'm always left with the feeling that I just steered my deck into the ground for 15 minutes (co-op: 90-ish). I'll still play it over some other #boardgames if only for the novelty of seeing new decks and trying to improve, but as my sample size grows I'm inclined to conclude that it's just Built That Way. (That is, the way that compels you to try pulling the slot machine Just One More Time.) 6/10

New game at #boardgames night: #Keyforge Adventures. It's a cooperative mode for Keyforge that, uh, doesn't really solve any of the problems I had with the 1v1 version. Maybe I'm just bad or have terrible shuffle luck but I have yet to play a single game where I felt like I was making nontrivial choices (i.e. playing a game) and getting something out of my deck (sample size = 15). The cooperative mode mainly just reduces the amount of time that you have agency, and takes 5+ times as long.

The hope is that the crowdfunding of #KeyForge WindEx will be enough to get an initial print run to backers (including the new Adventure), get a run for retail out the door, get things needed for the announced OP plans, and most importantly get assets/crew for set 7 lined up.

I don't think this is necessarily relevant to the revival of #KeyForge, because that's a unique situation where the state of the game and the player base needed to be evaluated.

I went to get beaten at #keyforge tonight! This new set dials up the complexity a lot, but I clearly need to get better at my decision making in this game.

So. Last night, I had this crazy idea to make a new #MagicTheGathering format, taking some unique things from #KeyForge to create something new and exciting. What do you think?

Oh hey, #Keyforge just announced their third expansion pack: "Worlds Collide". Apparently they'll be rotating two of the houses out of the game for now, bringing two new flavorful families of creatures to play with.

Nice that FFG improved the token situation in the upcoming #KeyForge starter sets. Plus the lower price (and nobody cared for the intro decks, right?) make this much more interesting for me. #boardgames

Also just played #Keyforge for the first time with The Rascal Who Doesn't Use Dice. I liked the game, and the deck (despite its being against My Brand), but it's still a little daunting to buy into a random deck. Maybe I'll pick one up and try to trade it sealed to my friend...
