Sunrise over Kep
Kep is the smallest province (khaet) of Cambodia. It is a 30 minutes ride from Kampot City.
This peaceful area is most famous for its seafood dishes and epic national park. It is a place to go for day on the beach, renting a hammock and watching the sun set, riding your bike around the national park, having a look at the old colonial villas, or taking a day trip to Rabbit Island.
It is quite all right to just enjoy the sunrise here too.

Guarding the sacred mountain and NP
This range of kinnaris was guarding the entrance to Preah Monivong Bokor National Park.
Kinnaris have the head, torso, and arms of a woman and the wings, tail and feet of a swan. They are renowned for their dance, song and poetry, and are a traditional symbol of feminine beauty, grace and accomplishment.
In Cambodian they are commonly seen carved into support figurines post-Angkor art and architecture.

If you go to Kampot Cambodia ever take a break to Kep. Just down a road. A tuktuk ride away. There is a fresh seafood market where it’s all cooked in front of you. Wonderful places to rent and just sit awhile and enjoy a beverage or three. Then there’s the sunsets. Kep is not the nicest beach to be found in Cambodia but it is an easy get away from busier Kampot.

Kampot Cambodia very well known for its pepper. Probably ships around the world and is sold on just about every street corner. But Kampot does salt harvesting too. There are wonderful old wooden buildings to wander around, salt ponds, and the Khmer people work long hours each day managing and maintaining the fields. My wife and I have visited a number of times. She loves the salt harvesting. I just love the old buildings and open areas so much.

Back home from Kampot. It was a nice stop and fun to tourist around yet again. This time we did Kep for a day and then Bokor. Saying goodbye to both the wonderful forests and the great scenic views from the mountain and station buildings.

We leave in a few hours for Kampot and a day trip to Kep for seafood and beach. Most of all swimming pool, fresh seafood, and some nice walks somewhere different for me. For my wife, shopping at the market and showing her niece around.

A week and a few days and we go! Have not gone anywhere with my wife since June. She asks me every day when we go and where we stay. What we will do. Her family owns a restaurant in Kampot. We will go surprise them for dinner one night. Other days are walking and finding little things out there to write, photo, live. My wife knows all the little places outside of the city we will go. We've done all the touristy things so this time is beach, pool, food, beer. Fresh seafood from Kep!
