#NowSpinning the soundtrack of my favourite #PaulThomasAnderson movie, #Magnolia. I’m not a big soundtrack fella, but this has the glorious #AimeeMann & a suitably cinematic score by #JonBrion.
This is the #Mondo repress &, despite reports to the contrary, it’s really well done. Striking jacket, flat well pressed milk white vinyl, & better than decent mastering.

I somehow missed a LATimes piece on #JonBrion and Meaningless - his "lost album"
I remember this part of the story because I was his Assistant Engineer on Fiona's 2nd record. The studio was still booked, so Jon gave me his credit card and said: go to Home Depot or ToysRUs and get anything you want to create as many analog effects as you can think of.
The ones I remember were PVC pipes around the drum kit to create resonance, a garden hose + funnel to create an analog delay, and a space phone

One of my fave #indiepop albums this year is #JustinSconza's 'Parlor.'
It moves from baroque pop through psych and indie via #ThePoppyFamily, #HollowHand, #RoyOrbison and #TheCrayonFields. If you like #TheDoor's #UnhappyGirl or #JonBrion, you'll probably love 'Parlor.'
