I started playing #runescape at the young age of 5 yo
#jagex has to be one of my oldest favorite #gaming company
But overtime, they added many paid annoying mechanics known as #p2w, mostly in #rs3
But a few months ago, they announced that they were removing most of these bad mechanics
And focus on the #integrity of the game.
I mostly play #osrs but I think this is sooo cool and respectable
Jagex is a British (non-us) company and I hope more companies take note of this behavior.

The history of #runescape is fascinating. If #Jagex decided to write a book of every interesting historical event in the game and sell it as a collector item, i would eat that shit up.

Anyone else miss FunOrb?
It was created by Jagex, the developers behind RuneScape, and it was a large suite of browser-based casual games. Many of them were iterations upon retro classics and arcade genres, though some were pretty unique as well (Arcanists is a prime example).
The cool part was that it was more than just games: it was an ECOSYSTEM. Lots of social features, hiscores/achievements, great forums, etc.

I think the thing #Jagex should have done is Embraced the #bots
Release an official bot API, and limit it to people who are paying. Embrace IRL Gold Trading, officialize it, and most importantly, Tax it.
And make the API limit what bots can do in specific ways - Can't do quests for example.
Maybe give them their own world instance.

@SleepyCatten Very nice, welcome back! Until recently I followed the main game (#RS3) since 2005, having never quit. My membership still costs 5$ a month.
Most of my skills are 120, but I had to take a step back due to the direction #Jagex was going in terms of monetization. I am now maxing on #osrs, and having a lot of fun again!
