  1. After years of trying, it is impossible to get an #ISNI if you are from the #Philippines, unless you are a musician or singer.

This #ISO identifier could have been very useful if widely supported. Sadly, it is not.

The only online registry that allows any “category” is the #BritishLibrary, unfortunately, the payment gateway they're using is not working properly if your card have a verification process. Will not work with #MasterCard or #VISA and they don't accept #AmEx.

So, for non-musicians/singers from the Philippines, there is currently no way to get an ISNI.

I give up. I'll look into this again, maybe in 2030. ISNI was a good idea.

  2. Things to do:
    1. Get an #ISSN - because blogs are actually qualified.

    2. Get an #ISNI - because, yes, bloggers, writers, and other creators, are qualified… not just musicians.

  3. @epentz @apsmith I still don't understand why #ORCID exposed #Ringgold ids in the first place and not #ISNI ids since Ringgold itself has been recommending those for interoperability (at least a few years ago - now their website seems to emphasize that less)

  5. @lioracle VIAF IDs are not true identifiers. They can change too much based on matching algorithms. You might try #ISNI or #Wikidata instead.
