The 5th of July is traditionally Tynwald Day on the Isle of Man. However, when this occurs on a weekend it moves to the Monday, today. Tynwald Day is the national day of the Isle of Man with events occuring to mark the anniversary of the longest continuous legislature in the world - since 979. Here are some of my favourite places on the Island. The first image was taken at Cronk Keeill Abban which was a Viking assembly site 🇮🇲 #IsleOfMan #TynwaldDay #EllanVannin

I thought we went out to buy unscented laundry soap (long story) but ended up on old steam train, walking Castletown, lunch, bus to Port Erin for more walking, and bus ride back. For a little island there's a lot to see, many historical train options, and a nice bus network.

5:15am and bleary-eyed we are heading for the ferry from the #IsleofMan to #Dublin. I love the absolutely bonkers IOM ferry terminal. Classic mid 1960's concrete architecture.
