A #sketch of the Arch cave I made once upon a time, in the happier year of 2017, being held up in front of the actual real life subject by a helpful volunteer.
This bridge formed as a result of a cave collapsing. Only part of the cave survived and now looks like a bridge.
It's a quick drawing made with a travel #inktense paint pan, and a black pen.

I used a dark purple water-soluble Inktense pencil to mark the darkest shadows before applying watercolor paint. This way, even if my brush strokes aren't super precise and the colors bleed into each other, I don't lose the definition of her facial features (which can happen if my sketch is too light).
The pencil has completely dried and hasn't lifted at all when I went over it, even though this paper is quite prone to lifting.
