Individually, the Decepticon not-Pretender Monsters aren't bad. They're certainly an improvement on their G1 toys in robot mode, although it's a matter of opinion whether their beast modes are too. (Scowl and Slog, in particular, share elements of both the G1 beast and the Pretender shell.)

I think they look better without their weapons, but some of them are combiner kibble and can't just be tossed in storage.

Not much to say about this set, if you already bought or seen the Dinoking or Volcanicus sets they're retooled from. The combined robot is a bit awkward and articulation is limited, but he holds together well enough, considering he's held together with 5mm pegs. And the weapons left over from Dinoking look good, but frankly feel unnecessary.

Just delivered: a tiny Combiney and an oversized Hot Wheels car. Gonna wait for them to cool off a bit before opening.

Reusing the Studio Series Scourge mold for its bat-wing robot kibble was a logical choice, but the retooled chest and small crest on the vehicle "cockpit" are what really make this figure work.
