Good morning, friends. 🌹🌹🌹
2 January 2024
Several years ago, I rode my motorcycle down to Holly Beach, Louisiana with a friend. It was a month or so after the hurricane, Rita, I think. I was amazed and the damage, there were crab traps hanging from powerlines. It made me wonder whether the wind put them there or was the storm surge that high. At houses along the way people piled furniture and other belongs damaged from water. When we got to Holly Beach, the beach was still there but all of the houses were gone. We road on and boarded the Cameron Ferry, to cross the Calcasieu Ship Channel and rode our motorcycles home. Our homes are about 80-100 miles inland, strong hurricanes normally dissipate a bit before they get that far, usually to Cat I or II at least. Knock on wood.
