So we voted this morning at our local Hungarian Embassy. It was pretty busy with voters even though it was a wet Sunday in the capital. No photos were allowed inside the Embassy - understandably so - but I snapped this in the lift on the way up. We await the results!

Our voting papers for the Hungarian elections on 12 April have arrived. We will vote in person at the Embassy here in Wellington - the only option. By Hungarian electoral law, voting must be start at 6:00am local time so we are planning to be among very first in the world to vote. Hungary has an MMP style system but we only get a party vote, and not an electoral vote as well, as we aren't registered at an address in Hungary.
We will do our bit to ensure Hungary gets the government it should have.

WOW My old uni became such a menace to Orban's goons and acolytes that they actually WON and (figuratively) chased them off the campus. So proud of them.

Orbán was looking forward to a great year, only to get backstabbed by Trump (wtf did he expect??), ghosted by Putin, the economy is in shambles, his nr #1 right hand is sanctioned by the US, Péter Magyar’s party increasing its lead in polling, they fucked up a contract that would have let the middle east buy a chunk of land in the capital to build a "mini-Dubai" and the city gov swooped in to buy the plot instead, and now it's his Serbian PM friend & fellow authoritarian who quit amidst widespread student protests against government/corruption. :annoyingdog:
