    BTW @koherecoWatchdog,

You mentioned #Ombrelo Search. We love it too but recently we've not been able to find a clearnet address. We don't care about the clearnet one bit, but it helped us to talk about it, and redirect to the long and painful-to-type #HSv3 address. Maybe we will have to sit down and type the HSv3.

There doesn't appear to be a way to do it in Tor though.

Maybe we need to include the #TorBrowser devs in this (@torproject). We heard something once that the HTTP 1.1 is prone to abuse or something, which is why DeCloudFlare resist using it but we are not fully across this.

Maybe someone can help from there but they probably mute us because we were idealogically against the #HSv3 addresses, and pushed for a different method to include more #entropy.

  3. > Invalid Onionsite Address.

Oh, that's right Tor addresses cannot be human-friendly.

And Cloudflare's emergence has nothing to do with the controlled demolition of comedy and the rise of CentralBankDigitalSlavery.

Our pet peeve is how under the guise of safety they had to make the URLs go from 16 characters to 50 characters.

Gotta futureProof #Tor for the year 34288.

The best way is to do what we have been saying for two years now.

    Use #I2P for everything #selfHosted.

All nodes are relays on I2P, so you don't get this problem. Tor is vastly compromised today. The stupidly long onion addresses make it unusable for one of its original purposes.

No one can remember their own URLs anymore on Tor (#HSv3). In our view, its deliberate to kill #grassroots.

  6. There is so much great work out there do to.

But then you realise #Cloudflare can just destroy any attempt to do great work — it can even destroy a young, healthy athlete.

Its sad to learn that #TorProject are hostile to people who speak up against Cloudflare. When we say #grants are slightly #toxic this is the type of thing we mean.

Its pretty obvious that Cloudflare have #infiltrated #GuardianProject, and compromised them in some way.

    Long live #I2P.

Yes, Tor is a good, especially for accessing the #clearnet more anonymously.

Having said that, we are in contact with people and activists on the ground. They (and we) need short URLs that can be remembered, written and typed, without having to store them on their person.

The 50-char #HSv3 addresses are not practical.

TorProject ignore calls to use 17-18 characters of entropy, which should take more time than has passed in the universe to #bruteForce — fine for #grassroots efforts.

  9. Isn't is fascinating that after #Tor broke #HSv2 hidden services, even the supposedly brilliant #HSv3 addresses seem more unreliable.

Gee hmm, but the plan was not to break Tor for the benefit of their corporate sponsors, no.

They just wanted to make #hiddenServices unusable, is all.

  10. @torproject
And with it you destroy any possibility that #Tor cab be used on the ground for progressive movements.

Well, done. A clap from your #corporateSponsors, no doubt.

  11. Can one still use #v2 addresses in the latest version of #Tor?

We think its a really bad move to depricate v2 for #HSv3.

If the #TorBrowser is not usable nor URLs memorable, then you don't have a secure system. If the problem is spoofing, help the web dev prevent spoofing.

We made a suggestion that a web dev might add HTML header suggestions to Tor Browser to add some coloured motifs deterministically to the URL.

  12. #Tor v3 addresses are a shambles.

You can't write them down in 10 seconds, if you can't even remember them.

It seems Tor's v2 address have been depricated, and Tor defaults to v3 now — bad news for UX?
