I was just randomly looking at Sony HitBits on eBay and saw this one. £225 for this‽ I think it's stretching the boundaries of "Good Condition" somewhat.

🔹 Have you heard of the Sony Hit-Bit HB-F5?
Released in 1985, this sleek 8-bit machine from Sony ran on the MSX standard and packed 64KB of RAM. Plug it into a TV, load up a cartridge or cassette, and dive into a world of early home computing. A true retro gem from the era when computers looked like they came from the future. 💾✨

@trodrigues The Sony #HitBit #HB101 (https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sony_HB-101) is definitely one of the sexiest #MSX machines out there. If only it had more RAM and was an MSX2 instead. 😅

Newest addition to the collection is this #Sony #HitBit #MSX machine.
It's in a rough shape and I don't know if it works and how much will buff out.
What's your take on 3rd party stickers from the time period? Get rid if them or leave them?

... and look how nice it works - welcome #rc2014bbs from my #Sony #HitBit #MSX machine !! 🥳

Newest addition to the collection is this #Sony #HitBit HB-55 #MSX computer.
It was quite dirty, but cleaned up nicely with the help of wet tissues, a magic sponge, and some ArmorAll to nourish the plastic.
Now I have to try if it still works.😅

my first MSX arrived + works :-) - later this year, i shall start to explore the catalog, and , god forbid, write a demo for it maybe? Any essential games i absolutely have to play? #retrogaming #retrocomputing #hitbit

got a new book yesterday. I snagged it on ebay for a few quid as my toshiba hx-10 didnt have any manuals, and this was really cheap. sony introduction to MSX basic from their hit bit msx computers i assume. its quite a good guide to basic. I had a quick skim through last night and it covers a lot of good topics
theres a copy on internet archive if anyone wants a browse.

This is probably one of the most beautiful computers ever made.
-
@polpo certainly one of the prettier models, yes; don't forget to include the #MSX hashtag so some more MSX lovers get their eyeballs on it. ;)
Another #HitBit that I enjoy the aesthetics of, is the Sony HB-F1XD, which also sports that lovely red, albeit as a more subtle accent.

@esheep
#Sony indeed has made some sexy #MSX machines in their time.
This pictured #HitBit #HBF1XD probably being on of their sleekest designs.While the #Philips #NMS8250 #MSX2 holds a special place in my heart because of it being our first #homecomputer, it definitely wasn't as good looking.
#Panasonic's #FSA1GT looks pretty too.

@crispr
the layout, especially the cursor keys, reminded me a bit of a #Sony #HitBit #MSX :)

@Truck I at least still have several #MSX; mostly #NMS8250, but I think also a #ToshibaHX10. I had a #HitBit too, but not sure anymore what happened to that one when I moved.
Since I kinda had to rush the packing when my father died several years ago, part of it is kinda a blur.Not sure what you mean with "MSX Blue" though?
I know of #BlueMSX, which is an emulator which I rarely use, and of the #OCM, the #OneChipMSX, which is an #FPGA in a blue case, which Haohmaru afaik owns; not me. :) -
