In dieser Serie geht es um die technischen Herausforderungen, die das gemeinsame Musizieren über das Internet mit sich bringen. Heute bündele ich zwei Audio-Eingänge zu einem.

Helvum has been helpful to use to map Pipewire inputs
It isn’t the greatest application, but Helvum has been helpful to me recently in order to setup a combine audio input from output and input. This allows me to use OBS Studio to live caption both my own microphone input and audio output. It is a little awkward to use, and I have not been able to delete edges, but it works.
First I make sure I have a null audio sink and source created using a script that I stole from, of course, not the accepted answer on “How to create a new pipewire virtual device that to combines an real input and output into a new input?”.
#!/bin/shSINK_NAME=combined-sink... -
I’ve been trying #crosspipe as a replacement for #helvum for a while now. Feature-wise, they’re pretty similar, but in my experience Crosspipe has been less glitchy than helvum and overall felt a bit more stable.

@aeva Anything you can make calls with + #Helvum (requires pipewire) to redirect any number of audio sources to the call. I have done this with Signal very often, and long ago with Discord. It should work with Jitsi, too, and others.
The latency is the latency of the call.
Edit: replaced the screenshot with a more illustrative one.

I wrote this short blog post on how to use SSR + Easyeffects to record your conference calls and meetings, or even gaming sessions easily and with lightweight software.
I had issues with not being able to record both my voice and the sounds coming from my system with SSR.
Feedback will be much appreciated :)

Both #Helvum and #libgtkflow implement Flowgraphs with GTK.
Neither of them are usable for my App. Thus I probably need to implement a third Flowgraph library in #Golang, which again - will not be usable by anyone else. -
#pipewire is just amazing. Had a #remotework #session this morning and patched all kinds of apps back and forth to the #screensharing in #helvum and everything was just so amazingly smooth. 🤩🥳 #linux #linuxaudio #bitwigstudio #wireplumber
