I can't stop thinking about this, (Young) #Nier writing his sister, #Yonah's name on the sand as one of his idle animations when he's at the beach, since I first discovered it a while ago.
Funny thing about Nier is, I didn't know going into it (playing #NierReplicant) that his Adult self would have the voice of #YusaKoji, my fav seiyu of all time, and while it's an absolute treat to listen to him in an MC role for the first time - I end up missing so much his Young voice that I've grown attached to, by #OkamotoNobuhiko.
And so I started noticing his voice elsewhere since, including in #HeikeMonogatari - which coincidentally also had the voice of #Kaine, #TanakaAtsuko.

#HeikeMonogatari, despite being confusing at times (more like, often), was so, so beautiful in the end even in its sorrowful, complex, tragic story and incredibly unique. People recommended it to me when I was looking for something with a historical #Japan theme like #Shogun (the TV show) in #anime form, and Heike really delivered.

I can't hold off on watching season 2 of #Severance any longer cos it's getting harder and harder to avoid spoilers on socmed or even YouTube.
I'm so eager to watch #Apple's recent video showing the BTS of editing/producing the series - bcos it contains spoilers lol. As soon as I'm done with #HeikeMonogatari, I'm moving on to Severance immediately. -

One of the main complaints I've seen about The Heike Story is that the ending felt rushed. However, while the end was a bit sudden, I argue in my review that everything was set up from the beginning.

The Heike Story is told from the perspective of Biwa, a young girl with the ability to see the future. While Biwa knows the fates of those around her, she doesn't tell them since the future can't be changed.

If you like historical drama anime and are particularly interested in Japan's Heian period, you should watch The Heike Story. It follows the Taira clan (the Heike) during the Genpei War against the Genji.

A tough one. I love long-arc stories with lots of character development, but not all long-run series are like that. Many are just repetitive.
#HeikeMonogatari should have had 50+ episodes. It's a sprawling epic. I wish #yokohamakaidasikikou had more than 4.
A lot of series don't need more than 12 episodes to tell a complete story.
I think of the single cour as a proving ground- give it a satisfying ending, but leave room to continue the story. Don't just end on a cliffhanger: #WitchFromMercury
#AscendenceOfBookworm is an example- Myne has a chance for survival in the temple, but there's a lot more story to tell. -
