All of this leaves me with the feeling that tech schools, bootcamps and tech companies are starting to externalise the burden of teaching & training junior devs to the #OpenSource community...
As if it was not enough to exploit the free labour that we provide in form of free software. Now we also teach for free.
Don't get me wrong, it feels great knowing that you helped someone to become a better professional.
But not so much to be exploited.

- PGP signatures
- Conventional Commits

Update on Hacktoberfest: the low-effort PRs have ceased. Seems like most of the "low-hanging fruit" things all got fixed very quickly. Now seeing more regular-effort PRs, but I'm also noticing weird invalid markup formatting in the added documentation. I suspect people are using ChatGPT 3.5, which cannot grasp the nuances of markdown formatted man-pages or YARD docs. While some use ChatGPT with caution, it seems others may be copying/pasting whatever ChatGPT returns.

This year's @hacktoberfest rewards are a bunch of digital crap (the attached 'holopin' included) plus the opportunity of having one tree planted... for the first 50K people having *1* accepted PR/MR. So, for 2023, my objective was quite tame - I just wanted to have that 1 accepted PR, doing my part in ensuring that there are at least 50K trees about to be planted. So... here it is - my 'level 1' holopin showing I did my bit - and that's #hacktoberfest2023 for me. See you next year...
