  1. I wonder if KDE Connect/GSConnect will ever have the option of starting a phone from your PC?

  3. thanks to #kdeconnect / #gsconnect and #unison I have a #syncthing like experience.

I only have to start the sync manually via terminal, which actually is ok.
Because my wife uses only her smartphone, I can sync weekly my digital heritage (all the important files in #cryptomator) to her phone.
This way she has all the stuff she needs in case a an accident or death.

#linux or #foss is so great, because you find easy and family friendly solutions without the cloud

  5. Found a local file and clipboard transfer alternative to #KDEconnect called #localsend. its missing media control and remote mouse input but it doesn't appear to have the dependency bloat of kdeconnect or #gsconnect. I care about this because #XFCE is my preferred desktop environment its lightweight, fast, and the design language is more intuitive to me.

  6. Upgraded to #gnome 45 on my #arch linux #tablet an half of the #extensions stopped working... I haven't used Gnome in years (since they moved to #gtk 3), so I'm wondering if I should expect all the extensions to break at every upgrade 🤨️
I can live without #gsconnect for a while, but the default #osk ( #onScreenKeyboard ) is unuseable without "Improved OSK" extension... that should be included by default...

  8. Just repurposed an older laptop and installed using the desktop and the LTS kernel. It is very lightweight, stable, and nimble. Then, installed and Gnome extension.

Also, repurposed an older , upgraded to , installed .

Connected the laptop to an LED TV. Now, I can control the laptop with the phone with touch and keyboard inputs.

This, my friends, should be a good media center that is completely FOSS!
