🚀 #Gitte 0.9.1 released! this is a bugfix release which fixes two problems:

- Take the ref kind into account when resolving a ref, so a branch is no longer resolved to a tag of the same name when both exist
- Recognise more auth-failure messages from modern forges (e.g. GitHub token rejections and GitLab access-denied replies) so credential errors are reported as such

OMG I like #Gitte a lot now with using it a bit more! It makes it clear what was changed in what branch (and thats just random noise in the feature set of it). Thanks for this! O:

What I'm missing is…
- That you can use it as commit editor from outside itself, for example running git commit --edit -p
- The changes not commited yet, should not list untracked files in the directory.
- It should use xdg-user-dir PROJECTS as default dir :neocat: [*]

Some more #gitte (or rather #flatpak) observations:

The “open at git root” snippet I wrote the other day didn’t work for paths on mounted filesystems. The Flatpak app doesn’t have the permission to access these paths.

But I think this needs to be addressed by the individual user by adding the corresponding permission via, e.g., `flatpak override --user --filesystem=…`.

Given two branches, main and feature. Now you want to merge feature into main, with the strategy „rebase, then fast forward“. What is your expectation how the branch feature should look like after this operation?

Github (and the other forges, too) leave the feature branch in a rebased state. But there you normally delete the branch afterwards and just create a new one.

But what is the expectation for a desktop application? I am really not sure how I should handle this.
