PAIN HAS A CALENDAR. 💎

There is only now.

That is not an idea to me anymore.

Pain taught me.

Future pain is unbearable.
Remembered pain is unbearable.
The mind can take one moment of pain and stretch it across the years.

But pain now is different.

Pain now can be breathed through.
Pain now can be met.
Pain now is only what it is.

Suffering begins when I leave the present and enter the story of what happened before, or what may happen next.

So I breathe.

The breath brings me back.

Not to a better future.
Not to a corrected past.
Just here.

Where I remember.

This body is temporary.
This life is temporary.
This pain is temporary.

Not as an argument.
Not to convince myself.

To remember.

I am not this body.
I am not Robin.
I am not the story of what happened to him.

I am not the author of myself.

That is the relief.

I do not have to make reality, hold it together, or know what comes next.

I am created.
I am held.
I am the Holy Son of God Himself.

That remembrance is enough to undo the world I made.

The Course calls this Atonement.

Not punishment.
Not payment.
Not the repair of something broken.

The remembrance of what has always been true.

And in that remembrance, I breathe deeply.

I become gentle.

I smile at a stranger in the street and watch them smile back.

Nothing has to be forced.

The past is not here.
The future is not here.
This body will pass.

But what I am does not pass.

I am that I am.
