I’ve looked at your #LLM #GenAISlop generated #Mastodon #AusPol Pulse today. And you haven’t fixed the self-referencing issue.
I note that as of 2026-08-14 12:01 AEST, the most active #Tooter was… no, can’t be… Yes It is… @politicalgadgets … Again.
Well blow me down… if this AI #Agent keeps doing this it will inevitably end up #MakingThingsUp. At which time I’ll stop following the stupid sefl-referenceing bot. Not to mention that it puts all other *analysis* produced under a dark cloud of suspected untruths and falsification.
Just another nail in the coffin of GenAI….YAY….
#AusPol
Ps. I defy any LLM-based GenAISlop machine to produce a more *nuanced* and well crafted toot. -

I think that it would be great and lend more credibility to the *bot* and its #GenAI *Sentiment Analysis* if it was not *Self-referencing*. Please fix this *Error* in processing by removing all self-references from the outputs. Please.

@Su_G
Sure, recirculate all you like, but that’s not going to put much of a break on water consumption (Fouling and evaporation alone will see to that). As for energy supplies, does the SA Premier have any idea of the scale these #LLM #GenAISlop hosting datacentres will consume? I guess not.Bad thing all ‘round IMO. We do need datacentres but those… definitely not. Let’s wait for the financial bubble surrounding all this AISlop Hype bursts before committing to any infrastructure. That would be the sane and logical thing to do. Let’s see how *Bought* our political leaders are on this ….

@tizilogic I’ll take that to be a rhetorical question or a form of sarcasm aimed at the #AISlop industry. I on the other hand can think of many practical uses for such infrastructure, none of which include #LLM #GenAISlop hosting.
PS. It is worth noting that #ComputingInfrastructure has a limited number of years for #ROI (as short as five years) before it is superceded by cheaper, faster, better technology. I cannot see #TechBros achieving anything near the #profits requried to pay for all their *gear* within such a short time frame. They will bleed #cash and #crash before those 5 years are out IMHO — maybe a little longer if financial #markets find other ways to hide the accumulating #debt with some new *derivatives* clever enough to dupe #finance #speculators and the financial #press.

@CTLiotta
Agreed. I am also uncomfortable about the authority of an #AI toolkit used to detect the use of #LLM #GenAISlop in a written work. To me such procedure lacks authority. I am left wondering if Digital Humanities ( #DH ) can step in to give any such test some academic credibility, We have seen some progress in #DHTools that successfully establish authorship for disputed creative works (text and musical scores). I also did a literature survey in preparation for a thesis I was working towards some years back which showed that #DHTextAnalysis techniques might be rigourous enough to detect more characteristics. Comparison of such characteristics between author and #GenAI produced literary work would be a more emphatic way to demonstrate #AIContent in written works.

In the past five weeks, the #Korean stock market has collapsed, shedding almost 40%, threatening the livelihood of millions of South Koreans. (Source: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-03/korean-markets-threatening-upset-tech-boom/106981956 )
Could we see something similar on a global scale when (not if) the #GenAISlop financial bubble finally crashes?

Sigh… with the news that ai companies are destroying rare books to scan, it’s ironic to see an ai slop Book Week dress up day poster. How many arms does Alice have again? #aislop #GenAiSlop #BookWeek #Ai

[Edited, twice, for typos]
[No AI was used in writing this toot — I’d rather not write at all otherwise]The use of #GenAISlop machines to determine whether text was provided by #LLM #TextRegurgitatingMachines is a monster of a cyclical process. Like the integrity of police officers overseen by other police officers in another branch of law enforcement. Lawyer oversighted by a professional lawyer body… and so on. #Credibility and #Transparency are unlikely to prevail in such nepotistic circumstances, corruption is everywhere but a step away.
What are #Authors to do? Build a #TrailOfEvidence and unimpeachable record of #Provenance for every work they wish to publish? How are they to do this? Are there non-AI tools to help? This is a really f*^%#d up world the #TechBros are imposing upon us all with their inane #MarketingHype hitting the mark with many incompetant and gullible executives in charge of the #publishingIndustry. (This is all conjecture on my part based on very little but general observations of what LLM GenAI is doing — or not doing — in every field of endeavour).
“Pangram is not infallible. I’ve used it to run some of my newsletters through it, and they came back as 80% AI when I wrote every word myself. This is one of many reasons why I disagree with Substack’s decision to partner with Pangram. Another reason is that once a tool like Pangram is available to the masses, false accusations start flying around, and careers can be ruined. Whether you admit it or not, there is A LOT of jealousy in the publishing world, so it wouldn’t surprise me if someone who disliked author X decided to use Pangram on their work and made the results public. This is not the publishing world I want to live in.” (Read more: AI Accusations and Book Publishing - Kathleen Schmidt, Aug 01, 2026). PS. I wonder how many *airport* books by some of the most successful authors in the *genre* would pass muster if subjected to #Pangram or similar GenAI tool generated analysis? Not many I’d wager. Further, what’s the bet Pangram is itself code produced by a GenAISlop machine. This AI ponzie scheme is just getting wilder and wilder by the day… BOOOMMM !

But, look, there’s no financial bubble at all…When it bursts, there are going to be global repercussions, govt bail outs (for those “too big to fail” aka #TheRich and famous) and the #NeoLiberal con of #TrickledownEconomics will finally come home to roost as everyone else (but the perpetrators of this folly) will pay, and pay, and pay some more. That’s if we don’t all boil off by then…
Dear Zeus, these are both depressing and desperate times. Desperate for that bubble to burst sooner rather than later.

Consider signing this petition to call for a moritorium on large data centre builds in Australia. At least until we get the policy right and legal instruments are in place. Last thing we need is a dryer continent and higher energy prices. #GenAI can take the back seat on this Australian bus.

@andyjennings
I wouldn’t trust what any #GenAISlop has to say. Historians have various perspectives on the Menzies’ years and while each of them have reseached the subject matter from primary sources, they still argue slightly different conclusions. How could a #TextRegurgitatingMachine possibly do any of that?I don’t wish to shoot the messenger here, just the #TechBros marketing hype.
Thank you for making a note that you did use #GenAI to draft your toot, I appreciated it. I would’ve gone to wikipedia myself, at least there is reasonable trust that humans are behind those texts and the references aren’t made up.

@fulelo
We now know there’s no such thing as a “Rogue AI” (more marketing hype, as if we needed more), just #TechBros using #GenAISlop machine to hack into other networks gone too far. When are people (especially #Journalists) going to wake up to this ponzie scheme anyway?
