Five to ten years ago it was ripped off designs printed on poor quality socks & so on, also mediated thru’ Scamazon (I was creating surface designs for PoD applications & we were all playing whack-a-mole until our publisher got involved; this feels like 1 step further & much harder for any one creator to deal with. Just yesterday I read about some startup running phone-farms to push genAI-created (fake) influencers & and it’s just… I can’t even… how did it…) 😭😩😭 -

It is also well documented (I tooted about this a little while ago) that there are many fully approved developments that are sitting idle gathering dust until the prifit margins are more favourable to the developers/builders.
NOTE: Cutting red tape, in the currently deregulated markets, is a euphmism for #NeoLiberalism and panders to the #Grifters. So, now you know where the #BudgetMay26 is coming from.

why wouldn’t the academic staff just boycott this #GenAISlop #Takeover and refuse to have anything to do with it. That would stop this insanity dead cold. Unions ought to have a go at frustrating the #Managerialists ‘ efforts to turn the #tertiary institution into a laughing stock post #IABubble burst.And the Q. remains who gains ($$$) from this over-the-cliff decision?
To AI there should be a qualified YES, but to GenAI there must be an uncontroversial NO. We don’t need more #AISlop.

To date, nothing concrete has been put in place. I wonder if the intense lobbying by the #GenAISlop #TechBros I’ve already tooted about (A @camwilson ’s Article in Crickey News) has had its desired effect on Govt for less regulation (and presumedly no #Guardrails). Judging by this latest news (#ABC) it seems it has and the ‘govt’ is drunk on the #Kool-Aid. I guess this all means #Enshitification is not over yet and we’re in for more of the #AISlop as well as more $$ sunk into the #AIBubble. Straps yourselves in, the ride ain’t over yet!

While Karen Middleton spins a tale of deja vu about the Treasurer's address to ANU alumni, one sentence that she quoted was a magnet to me:
"... it will take leadership to build a new economy powered by cleaner and cheaper energy and turbocharged by AI."
I shuddered after reading it. Was #JimChalmersMP referring to the #KoolAid driven #LLM #GenAI slop in his speech? I fervently hope not. And if not, he ought to know that AI is nothing new, has been around for decades, helping professionals with highly effective diagnostic tools. And this is why I was arrested by the sentence in the first place... maybe Jim has drunk the koolaid too...
