The Great Enscrapening: a period in history when AI hoovered up everything it could find. Various authorities place its end date around the mid- to late-2020s depending on how much AI generated content was mixed into the material. It was followed by the Missing Century when AI-generated content swamped everything else making original content difficult to find until the Post-Post-Modern Internet arose from isolated communities connecting based on real human relationships.

Book of the day:
Re-reading "Parable of the Sower" by Octavia Butler, which focuses on 2025 and the decent into chaos in the cities and violence on the streets.
As I begin ch 2 I read "Books of the living, jul 21, 2024.
Starts off talking about how she was affected by religion.
Seems oddly appropriate in view of current events. -
For anyone contemplating an alternative future history of Trump's pressure on the Ukraine and NATO causing NATO to pull apart with the Baltic States pushed to open fronts on Russia's West flank, with Germany joining in the US appeasement of Putin, hold on a bit unless you want to be burned as a witch.
