CW: foodcrime (vegan)
My latest food crime is to start cooking dal (because YaY lentils) and nasi with sate sauce (because YaY cravings). Halfway into the project I realized that bringing all my plans to completion would end up with a very heavy dinner with lots of dishes, and a lot more work.
So obviously I just chucked the base for the sate sauce in with the base for the dal, and changed the spices in the rice/veggie mixture a bit.
I have no regrets or remorse.

Alone at my dad's house, with only the remnants of his pantry and a few things I bought at a local Indian grocery, I've just invented something. It's basically paneer pho. Yes, those are curry leaves. I am a beast.

Today's dinner was inspired by Ethiopian & Moroccan food.
I took the cooking method and main ingredients of atakilt wat (a cabbage potato stew) and used a harira spice mix instead of the traditional ginger, turmeric and cumin, savoy cabbage from the #csa farm and sweet potatoes from the store.
Served with a vegan patty made a very tasty fusion dinner
