  1. Question about the ATU in a #yaesu #ft710 .

What am I doing wrong here?
I keep the TUNE button pressed. This is the way to initiate the tuning cycle.

Sometimes it works. Rattling relays finding a matching combination after a few seconds. Success.

Most of the time it says 'tune' and after a second or so it's done yet I get 'high SWR' msg. No relays clicked.

Like it remembers settings from previous tune cycle on different antenna or ATU test on dummy load.

    Any hints or advice?

  5. Our local #amateurradio club has it‘s yearly #fieldday this weekend and since it’s only about 20km from my home I decided this would be a good opportunity to use my #cargobike Carrying a tent, a small pavilion, food, water, my #yaesu #ft710 and a 48Ah battery bank, I’m fairly impressed what I‘m able to comfortably move with that bike!

  10. Any of the Yaesu fans here know how long the bolts/screws are for a mounting bracket or carry handle on an FT-710 (or similar)?

Asking because I want to secure the radio into a flight case but don't want to go too deep. The threaded holes in the radio go all the way through and the manual specifically warns for damage with too long screws.

Yes I could measure but maybe someone knows?
Heck I didn't even check yet if it's metric sized (Mx) thread...

  15. I forgot much of my K3 operating so the #Yaesu #FT710 is going to be a steep learning curve.

  16. Ok, I had a shit day at work yesterday and impulsively bought myself a proper including and a small mobile mast… have not gotten my license yet, so this counts as preparation, right? 😅 Has anyone already experience with the ?
