After the very ropey voices in #FrontierinSpace the Daleks are back on form here. I actually like this version #DoctorWho #PlanetoftheDaleks

"Do not fail the Daleks, indeed. You stupid tin boxes" Despite the confused final scene, Roger Delgado is still (as always) on fine form. I am really going to miss him showing up as the Master. A great actor and from what I have read a lovely man #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

"Many future worlds will become allies just because of their fear of the Daleks" I really like this ending. The antagonist of most of the story and the aliens join forces and go off to form an alliance. On this watch through I am loving Malcolm Hulke #Doctorwho #FrontierinSpace

Come on BBC iPlayer, can we not give this one the Day of the Daleks treatment and replace these voices. It is good to have the Daleks back but they sound terrible #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

Having a big cliffhanger in the middle of episode 6 of a story really works here. It is just a shame that the Master isn't in #PlanetoftheDaleks. The ending of this is a confused mess and we don't really know where he goes or why #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

I wonder why the Ogrons effectively vanish from the TV series after this story? I think they provide a way to introduce an element of levity into Dalek stories without diminishing the Daleks themselves #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

I feel like I keep saying every episode is Jo's best yet but she really does keep getting better. From defying the Master to resisting the fear machine and escaping prison she is on fine form. She even clearly impresses both the Doctor and Master #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

There is an explicit contrast between this and #TerroroftheAutons Jo has come a long way from the girl who fell straight under the Masters power and brought a bomb into UNIT, to the woman who can now completely resist him #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

The Master seems to be spouting a lot of Earth specific phrases and references, he has spent far too long in the twentieth century I think #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

I mentioned before how this reminded me of Babylon 5 but the way in which the Earth/Draconia war began being so similar to the Earth/Mimbari conflict has to be more than a coincidence surely? #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

"Silence! Females are not permitted to speak in the presence of the Emperor" I think there was a missed opportunity to deal with how the President of Earth being a woman affected this relationship #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

"Ah, but I am a noble of Draconia. The honour was conferred on me by the fifteenth Emperor" So is this the First or the Second Doctor? #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

"An Emperor who does not rule deposes himself" I love the comparison between situation for the Emperor and the Earth President #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

This little scene showing the relationship here goes a long way to establishing Draconian society. It is the little things like this that make me love this story #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

"But if we do get back, I'm telling you one thing... I'm never going back in that Tardis with you again" I missed this before but this throw away line turns out to be true (TV only). Upon getting back to Earth she never enters the TARDIS again #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

You have to love how much self confidence the Doctor must have here to demand to see the Emperor. Next time a plane strays into UK airspace and is stopped by the RAF the pilot just needs to demand a personal audience with the King #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

I used to find all of this fun and enjoyable until I listened to The Feast of Axos. Still think I'm a little traumatised by the cliffhanger to episode 3 (if you have heard the story you will know). Thanks for that Big Finish #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

Jo is fantastic in this episode. Katy Manning gives around a 5 minute monologue which starts happy and bright, gently poking fun at the era's cliches, and then after she believes the Doctor to have died, the tone changes but she carries on. Fantastic #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

This episode has more call backs than ever before. The Doctor discusses his trial (at length), his time with UNIT and the Brigadier. Jo talks about her Uncle and how she chose this life and the Master even calls back to the Sea Devils #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

I never believe the Master when he claims to want to kill the Doctor. He would have died here if the Master hadn't come to the rescue. Clearly he doesn't want him to actually come to harm (or maybe he's just repaying the debt from #TimeMonster) #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

"Oh, need you ask? How could I leave two dear friends in such dire straights?" You can almost believe this version of the Master when, despite everything, he calls the Doctor and Jo his dear friends #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

If the stuff on Earth is making me think of Babylon 5 then the scenes in the lunar prison are definitely giving a proto #Blakes7 vibe #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

I am really liking the presentation of the President here as a morally complex figure. On a personal level she seems nice and sensible and reasonable and yet we learn she send her opponents to a penal colony, for ever, without trial #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

It feels quite modern for a show in 1973 to have a scrolling news banner running along the bottom of a TV broadcast #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace

The Doctor is locked up more times in this episode than most stories. There is something very meta about freeing the Doctor from Earth only to put him into stories where he is constantly imprisoned #DoctorWho #FrontierinSpace
