At the end of #TerroroftheAutons the Doctor took the Masters dematerialization circuit meaning he couldn't have left Earth to find this alien. This therefore suggests that he set up this plan as a backup in case his Auton plan failed #DoctorWho #MindofEvil

Maybe I should start tracking his disguises, but compared to the mask in #TerroroftheAutons this one leaves a lot to be desired. Not quite the master of disguise in this one, must be one of his worst attempts surely? #DoctorWho #MindofEvil

I had never realised before that the Brigadier was not played in Nicholas Courtney in the outdoor scenes of this episode. I saw this comment just as I was starting to watch the episode and you can see it when you know #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

My favourite part of the conclusion is the idea that the Master has an endless supply of rubber masks of his own face on hand for just such eventualities #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

The idea that the Master didn't think about the massive and obvious flaw in his plan until the Doctor points it out leading to an immediate change of heart would ruin any other villains credibility. It works here solely on Roger Delgado's performance #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

"Yes, of course. Dissolved by carbon dioxide from the lungs" wait a minute, surely it should dissolve then as soon as it is applied and be useless (it dissolves as soon as the Doctor breathes on it)? #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

Can anyone explain to me what is going on here. The Brigadier suggests blowing up the coach with a missile and the Doctor reacts as if it is a terrible idea. Why? Surely it is quite a good plan? Is he just worried in case the Master gets hurt? #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

I love Jo but her introductory story is a little uneven. We get some good stuff, her shrugging off her near death experience, practicing her escapology and her clear chemistry with the Doctor, but then she stupidly reveals their plan to the Master #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

I love the scene where Jo is attacked by the plastic flower. The shots of her with her nose and mouth coated in plastic mid scream work really well and were probably quite scary for younger children #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

I actually laughed out loud at that line, Nicholas Courtney delivers it perfectly and shows that the Brigadier can work with the new tone when written right #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

"Could you? Could you really? You're a dolly Scotsman, Mister Campbell" It is a very odd description to use, but if Jo Grant was flirting with you to speed up the order could anyone say no? #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

They are playing up the Brigadier as a comedy element in this story and I'm not really keen on that. Gone is the serious military man, replaced with someone with no clue how to handle the situation who pulls faces like this at a doll autopsy #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

The first of the Masters many disguises and this one is actually quite good. It is just a shame they ruin any possible surprise by playing the Masters theme over most of the scene #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

"I was saying to him in the Club only the other day, wrong sort of chap is creeping into your lot, Tubby, I said" Not sure I'm a fan of the idea of the Doctor going to a gentleman's club. "Brownrose" might be a little pompous but he has a point #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

The Doctor seems particularly amused that he has stranded a megalomaniac genius on Earth. He is in a very funny mood this episode overall. #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

This episode really nails the idea of every day items being a threat. As well as the classic mannequins we have had flowers, chairs, dolls and telephones. I really like the idea that anything plastic could be just waiting to get you #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

Mike redeems himself after his less than auspicious start by knocking an Auton down a cliff. The fall does look very impressive, especially the way that he gets up as soon as he hits the bottom #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

I can understand the police not being very happy with this story. The Doctor and Jo are fairly relentlessly pursued through the quarry by the police who are clearly the bad guys. #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

I understand that this scene made its way into a House of Lords debate, but scary for children or not, it is one hell of a cliffhanger #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

My shot of the episode though is of course this one. Whoever thought lets create a CSO shot of a kitchen is a genius. It is completely unnecessary to the plot to even have the kitchen but they were trying something new and I like that #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

I hadn't remembered how funny this story was. Even the parts that are supposed to be taken seriously are played with a dark comic edge #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

The toy on the back seat really should not work in 2024. It should look cheap and terrible and yet there is something undeniably creepy about it that somehow still works, for me anyway #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

Jo isn't kidding about having a bad first day at work, it isn't the best introduction for a new companion. I've never really understood the suggestion that there is chemistry between Jo and Mike. Curious if this will change watching in order #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

We are offered an interesting contrast here. Jo is forced to do something against her will and suffers a "schizoid dissociation". Farrel watched a man he has known his whole life murdered and quips about his entitlement on termination #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

There is something very #DoctorWho about having a character killed by an inflatable chair made of living plastic. There are a lot of comic elements in this one. I particularly liked the Master: "Yes he sat down in this chair here, and just slipped away" #TerroroftheAutons

Probably not a flattering comparison but every time I see the Doctor throw the bomb out of the window I think of this scene from the Batman film... #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

The Brigadier really can't trust the Doctor. He allows him to work on a weapon that could provide a major advantage to UNIT in the next alien invasion and the Doctor casually destroys it. #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons

The floating Time Lord in a bowler hat is an odd addition to the story. I'm not sure how he gets here without a TARDIS but I like this version of the Time Lords as it implies they are something greater and using human bodies as a disguise to fit in #DoctorWho #TerroroftheAutons
