Those who lived near vast bases say the US military’s lack of protections poisoned the land and sickened their children, perhaps for generations.In April 2017, the U.S. military dropped the most powerful conventional bomb ever used in combat here — the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast, known unofficially as the “mother of all bombs,” or MOAB.
Before the airstrike, Qudrat Wali and other residents of Asad Khel followed as Afghan soldiers and U.S. special forces were evacuated from the area. Eight months after the massive explosion, they were finally allowed to return to their homes. It was soon after, Wali says, that many of the residents began to notice strange ailments and skin rashes.
“All the people living in Asad Khel village became ill after that bomb was dropped,” says Wali, a 27-year-old farmer, pulling up the leg of his shalwar kameez to show me the red bumps stretched across his calves. “I have it all over my body.” He says he got the skin disease from contamination left by the MOAB

This is one of the happiest days of my life, a hope for peace and an end to one of the bloodiest war in modern time, with millions of people suffering an artificial famine and health emergency in one of the poorest countries on earth. A country that not many people seems to care about is finally seeing the opening of a path to peace.

Saudi-Omani delegation to hold ceasefire talks with Yemen's Houthis in Sanaa
#Saudi and Omani envoys are planning to visit Yemen's capital Sanaa next week to negotiate a permanent ceasefire deal with #Iran-aligned #Houthi officials and end an eight-year-old conflict there, two people involved in the talks said.
The move signals that regional rifts are easing after rivals #SaudiArabia and Iran agreed to restore relations last month following years of hostility and backing opposite sides in Middle Eastern conflicts, including Yemen.

Infuriating hypocrisy and double standard!
Yemen is not like Ukraine, you do not see countries get into trouble for NOT sending weapons to Yemen, you do not see billions of dollars of aid, supplies and high tech weapons sent to Yemen. Yo do not see GoFundMe for volunteers traveling to Yemen to fight. None of those exist for Yemen.
After all, they are not "civilized Europeans" and they are not fighting against the "Hitler of our time". Yemeni citizens are disposable, their right to defend themselves does not exist and their much stronger enemy, the Wahhabi cult ruled kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a friend, financier and partner of all "leaders of the free world".
Sending weapons to Yemen, even if they are some rifles and bullets gets you into the list of enemies of the United States and UK. It is after all a blockade against sending such dangerous items to a country that is subject of one of the most cruel and inhumane blockades in our modern time.
The US government, seems to have jurisdiction over international law and is planning to take Iranian government to court, for the crime of allegedly sending riffles to Yemen. It is labeled as "support of international terrorism".
Isn't the new world order great or what?
PS. the same weapons can be purchased in the US by a 16 year old who can use them to go and shoot people whenever they feel like it.
