  1. And I’d wondered why there were odd costumes in my hotel! Both #FolkloreWithoutBorders and #CrossBorderRail are staying here! 😀

  2. As there seems to have been another uptick in participation here, a quick summary #introduction (fuller one is pinned). I'm a UK-based (Londoner now living on #isleofwight) folklorist. Started off interested in #folksong, spread to wider interest in #folk #folklore.

Did an MA, liked it, so did a PhD on Contemporary Belief in #Ghosts - uhra.herts.ac.uk/handle/2299/7.

Currently on the Council of the Folklore Society, Associate Editor of its journal Folklore, & on the editorial board of #FolkMusic Journal. Until end of year I'm Research Fellow on #FolkloreWithoutBorders research network on EDI in British folkloristics.

I've written on #ghostlore, folklore about #rats, #cannibalism at sea, tongue twisters, popular representation of folkloristics. Increasingly working on folklore's history. Shiny research profile here: researchprofiles.herts.ac.uk/e

  7. Coming back from the first (of three), wildly exciting, in-person meeting of the 11-month AHRC research network I'm Co-I on. Fizzing with ideas, which in my exhaustion are still keeping me moving. I'm so excited I think the network deserves its own hashtag: #FolkloreWithoutBorders

The network aims to understand how to embed greater equality, diversity, and inclusion within UK #folklore. It hosts an international knowledge exchange on folklore theory, method, and creative and curatorial practices. The network is focused on the UK and is already underway.
