Freshly wrapped and napped Dumplings for today's Dumpling Report!
😽 Shelley-kitten: 1006g (+1) but she *would not* sit still..
😸 Ada-kitten: 1015g (+12)
I keep them in the bathroom, but back in the living room dog crate in the afternoons.
All they want to do is nap, and the other cats can get used to them.
Poppy is completely enamoured, and will sit and watch them all day. The others? not so much.
- Don't like that!
- Hiss!
- Ignore!
- Refuse to go anywhere near.. -
Late dumping report:
Shelley: 1004 (+14)
Ada: 1003 (+6)This is the ONLY non-blurry photo out of MANY.
Now Ada's eyes might be turning orange? (They looked blue-green yesterday)
Also YOUR WHISKERS, GIRL.
WHAT HAPPENED??!They're neatly snipped off, just stubble. TWO hairs remain..
I think her sister may have nibbled them off?
Is this a thing kittens do? Shave their siblings bald?? 😂 -
Late 2-day Dumpling Report (v tired):
Shelly-kitten: 990g (+35, +15 yesterday)
Ada-kitten: 997g ! (+49, -2 yesterday)
I was worried over her losing a bit of weight yesterday, bc I'm trying to get her off milk. Again.
The hefty gain today means I can cut to one bottle, then none, and see how she does.
Their EYES are changing colour! Shelley's are turning orange. Ada's green.
I've moved them to the bathroom, the only place I can shut other cats out and not full of hidey-holes.

Shelley-kitten is 895g (+23)
Ada-kitten is 863g (+43)
What a difference the milk makes!
She also sprouted glossy black long hairs on her coat.. I think she's going to be a solid black cat.

Ada-kitten is 820g (-22) so lost weight for the *second* day 😩
(But this is my fault, we ran out of formula. She obviously still needs both).

Late Dumpling Report:
Shelley-kitten: 851g (yesterday's was prob wrong)
Ada-kitten: 842g (+12g)
Both are very perky and affectionate.
Shelley JUMPS and CLIMBS. She loves scrambling around my shoulders, hanging down like a bat to sniff my face or plop back down to my lap again.
Ada loves to snuggle on my arm, and groom my fingers.

Today's Dumpling report:
Shelley-kitten: 879g (+53)
Ada-kitten: 830g (+63)
Not sure if they *really*could have gained that much weight in a day, or scale error again.
(I've tried weighing kittens in various bowls, which they rock / jump around in, so none really work 😹 )
Yesterday they were too sleepy to do that. So I trust those measurements.
They have both grown frizzy paler grey hair on their upper arms, belly and chin. Shelley has little black belly spots.

Dumpling Reports a feisty Ada today!!
She weighs a whopping 767g this morning 🏆
- Her meals were supervised, and without sister bothering her (she eats slowly).
- Plus 3 half bottles of milk, which she drained completely.
- Shelley weighed in at 826 (+17g)
Both *were still for once* so the scale settled.
I doubt Ada gained 71g in one day, but today's weight is prob the accurate one.

Shelley-kitten is 782g (+29)
Ada-kitten is 747g (+45)
BIG growth spurt (she lost weight yesterday) and little grey fur puff shoulder pads appeared.
She is eating a lot, and doesn't want bottles anymore. Thank dog. I SLEPT for the first time in ages 😭
They're both changing colour (again) so looks like they might stay Black Smoke w grey and black fur.

Shelley-kitten is 752g (+43g) BIG growth spurt 🏆📈
Ada-kitten is 702g (-8)
I reduced the alternating milk bottles, to get her to eat more. Not working.. 🙄
She's got a slightly pink tummy, which I'm reading could be an allergy. Maybe that's why she doesn't like the food?
I've got a different wet food we're trying later..

Today's Dumpling Report feat. Poppy-cat, live at the scene 🎤🐈
Shelley-kitten is 709g (+1g)
Ada-kitten is 710g (+28)
The problem was a sachet of food I opened last night - they did NOT like it at all 😾
I opened the last non-salmon one and mixed them - Ada ate it, Shelley refused. She also refuses milk. Nah. I hate it! 😠
There IS kibble, but they just play football with it.
Mum is going to buy more wet food today.

The kittens are BOTH eating, tho Ada picks at the food and eats less, so I'm still giving her bottles.
(Shelley wants nothing to do w milk. She launched herself at her first meal, stuffed her little face, and never looked back)
Shelley: 708g (+25)
Ada: 682g (+20)

She morphed into a giant overnight so that makes sense..
😺 Ada-Kitten is the same as yesterday : 662g.
She tried *some* food this morning, and am not worried as both kitties did this right before a growth spurt.

Despite the rain I got a non-blurry video of the Blobs (after many attempts)

(She's warmed to them in the last few days, I've caught her cooing over / petting them)

Today's Dumpling report (late again)
Byron/Ada is 630g (+18)
- They missed a feed BC I overslept twice and fed them 4hrs apart.
Shelley - I don't know! She was both too big/too wriggly to STAY in the cereal bowl I plonk on top of the tiny scales.
- I need a bigger bowl, but all were in the dishwasher (running, BC we have water again)
She's energetic and climbing everywhere. Raining again so filming them is awkward

Late w the Dumpling report - Had to do errands between feeds and race home. Yay! Now I want to collapse and sleep for 1000yrs.

😼 Byron is 618 (+34)
He's almost caught up, and my tired ass just noticed TODAY is a GIRL 😅
(Id-ing tiny grubby blobs in the dark is hard!)
So we have 2 girl kittens.

Shelley broke the 600 mark at 601g! ( +21g)
Byron's tail doubled in size since Monday, and the legs shot out some more.
He is a whopping 594g (+48!)
Rapidly catching up to his sister. In size too, I can't tell them apart as easily..
Weaning will begin Friday - I need to do errands tomorrow, and buy more supplies.

Todays dumpling report and good news!
Byron is 536g, and oh those legs look *longer* than yesterday. No more dumpling, you look like a cat today.
He is certainly using them to scoot everywhere madly, chase and wrestle his sister.
So, weight loss to power growth spurt??
Shelley is now 580g (+15g).

Dumpling report. Both are actively exploring, climbing even. Byron on the left.
He doesn't seem slower or lethargic, so am back to old feed pattern and hope he gains weight tomorrow.
If not, looks like we're heading to the vet 😩

Shelley: 522g today (+30g)
Byron: 502g today (+22g)
He's not eating as much as I'd like. Or with enthusiasm like his sister.
Weight gain good, though.

Proof of Potato.
She is 390g this morning! (oops, forgot to weigh *before* feeding.
But from 304 yesterday + milk that's still some hefty weight gain.
She can also groom herself, and used the litter tray. Clever girl

Pleased to report bouncy potatoes this morning. The kittens appear to be doing well.
I couldn't sleep so got up at 2am to do an extra feed. She was groggy but ate everything.
Then at 5:30 am, BOTH were up on their feet by the bars, waiting.
Same this morning. She SHOT out of the door like a little car toy. Purring all the time.

I fed the #feralkittens at 4am and 7am.
The extra feeds seem to be making all the difference - the undersized boy was yelling and grabbing at the milk with gusto, just like his sister.
He also drank more. Still not as much as her, but I'll take that improvement.
Much MUCH shoutier too. LOUD potato.
I am small and I must scream.. 😽📣

I had to be very careful, just sticking the camera around the corner. She still saw it and it seemed to make her nervous so I didn't film too long. But what a precious sight this is ♥️
