  1. It's probably less of a problem now that the fediverse is much bigger (than it was 5 years ago). But one of the things I've heard puts newbies off alternative social apps/ networks is too much meta-discussion about development and deployment of the apps/ networks themselves.

Maybe we could agree on a standard way of tagging this stuff (eg #FediDev)? Then that tag could be filtered out by default for newbies.

  15. If you want to change how the Fediverse works (for the better) —

You do NOT need an FEP.
You do NOT need to do it under the W3C.

At the heart of it — what you need to do is — get existing Fediverse software to include the change.

If you can do that to enough Fediverse software, then you will have successfully changed how the Fediverse works.

  25. Hey fediverse-devs. Is it possible to authenticate an activitypub-profile from another location than home-server? Like using e.g. an mastodon profile as identity on other activitypub-apps? Can I make an app where people can authenticate with already existing activitypub identities? #ActivityPub #activitypubdev #fediverse #fediversedev (plz boost, if someone in your network might know)

  30. @peertube
Thanks to all the people who have worked to make Peertube and Fediverse better.

Shorter URLs will help Peertube and thus Fediverse.

To help those people who do #FediverseDev and #PeertubeDev, why not start your own #local #BountyProgram?

See our pinned toot, or use the hashtag #)FediFlyer to learn more. Our flyers are CC-BY-SA, all we ask is if you change text (and if so, images too) that you don't attribute us.

Thanks again all involved in improving the Fediverse!

  31. to admins of scholar.social. there's an acc. that is spamming and spreading mysoginic content. block
    ->@CreamyDreamy

I have seen this the last days several times on different instances.

I believe this is a weak point that should be fixed. Open registration is great. But it's not if those with bad intention can spread endless messages into peoples replies.

    How to solve this?
Not shure, but maybe limiting the numbers of posts a new user can do, until some trust has been established.

  32. Dear #fediversedevs, I am working on the problem of decentralised hashtag federation for #ActivityPub networks as a university project.

Here is a brief first overview of my ideas and what I intend to do: git.orlives.de/schmittlauch/pa

If you have any ideas, strong opinions or remarks on this I'd love to hear them.
If you're at #35C3 I hope that we can discuss this topic.
