Why can’t mastodon apps on iOS get list scrolling insertion right?! Like both #toot and #feditext will eventually display a call to action button with “load more” once you scrolled far enough. That will be sandwiched between what you just seen and whatever it already had loaded in the past. That button is recognising that you can load content between that interval.
And very often when you click it, they load loads of statuses but instead of keeping you at the top of the fresh content, you will be at the bottom of it and have to scroll up to find where the list of new things start. It is so bad. -

the context menu stuff isn't that bad fortunately, and the link preview framework goes back to iOS 13. though i will need a preview metadata cache

coming soon to iOS 17 and up (and late to iOS 15 and 16 because the text item interaction API doesn't exist there and i'll have to do it the hard way): context menus!
don't ask me how quote posts are going, i will cry

Feditext beta users: version 1.7.2 build 145 fixes an API decoding issue with media attachments that can prevent posts and timelines from loading. while this could affect any Fedi server, it was happening more frequently in the current GTS RC. that's likely to be fixed by GTS in their next RC.
also, we forgot to announce it 😅 but previous build 144 fixed the Open in Feditext share sheet action on iOS 18 and 26. it should now work for any iOS version we support (15–26).

Weil ich diese neue App teste bin ich nach Jahren mal wieder auf der Lokalen und globalen Timeline gelandet. Irgendwie komisch. #feditext Test

Every so often #FediText shows me something like the Federated timeline instead of my subscribed/home timeline. I have to shut it down and restart.

ok quote posts work ship it
simplifying assumption: every post quotes the same post, by me, except for that exact post, which doesn't quote anything
