@itgrrl :donor: I have a few examples on the channel that I sometimes use to post Fediverse-related memes, @Jupiter's Fedi-Memes on (streams). Most of them are based on established templates. Some use elements of templates while the images themselves are custom-made.
Just so that you know:- The channel is not on Mastodon. It's on (streams). The Web interface will take some getting used to.
- All posts are hidden behind summaries, usually with at least one content warning each as a safeguard because all posts with an image are potentially triggering. You will have to open them.
- The images themselves are hidden behind spoiler tags as an additional safeguard for those especially on Friendica who have turned abstracts off entirely. You will have to open them again to see the images.
- In order to get the alt-text, you will have to mark the part of the post around the image, copy it and paste it into a plain-text editor. There is no other way. Sorry if you can't do that if all you have is a phone.
- My alt-texts aren't exactly short.
- I don't explain my memes in the alt-text. I explain them in the post text itself. That is, if I have something to link to, I use links as explanations. But you'll hopefully notice that yourself if you scroll down fast enough.
