I think last years most confusing nature find was a fish, this dried out 3 spined stickleback that I found impelled on a wooden fence was stuck by its own spines.
I deduced that a kingfisher caught it and whilst knocking it out and trying to soften its spines, it got it stuck.
Poor fish and poor bird.
