The government have sided with the Greens on the environment laws 😁. I was fearful & thought they’d go with the coalition. This is much better & I know it won’t be all the Greens wanted, but this is great. #AusPol #EnvironmentLaws

they say “Environment Minister Murray Watt is working on a deal to rewrite our federal environment laws. This is necessary, because everyone agrees our existing laws are failing.

But instead of working with the Greens and independents to strengthen them, Labor is seeking a deal with the Coalition. It means Australia’s new environment laws will need the support of climate sceptics like Matt Canavan, who recently called for renewable projects to be replaced by new coal plants.

What we need is strong environment laws that actually bring an end to new coal and gas projects.
